This is my prayer for my brother-in-law Charlie. He is a big Pink Floyd fan, and he always lets me know that he likes the Pink Floyd related posts here on WJPP. Unfortunately, Charlie won't be able to enjoy this post today... but hopefully soon. He had a long awaited kidney transplant this past August. He has been doing really well until Friday. He had a procedure Wednesday to try to check into stomach pains he had been having. On Friday he knew that something was not right and he checked himself into the hospital. He is gravely ill right now and is not breathing on his own. By Friday evening it was discovered that he had a blood clot in his lungs and has some serious lung complications. This is a very scary time for our family.
Tom went to Phila. to be with Chaz and his siblings for the weekend. After two days of little change, Tom is heading back home. We are all praying for Charlie to become stable enough to be transported by helicopter to the larger hospital in Allentown where his transplant team is, but right now he is not stable. Charlie is a dear of a person. He is always affable, always has a joke and a smile, and is simply a lovable person. He loves to read, he loves his family, he loves his Scrabble game. Please say a little prayer for Charlie.
Breathe.

My hopes to you and your family. Take care.
Thank you, Sabine. Update as of 4 p.m., Charlie took a helicopter ride and is now at the larger hospital where his transplant team is. It was determined the transport was worth the inherent risks. He remains in a medically imposed paralytic state and still not breathing on his own. Hoping for improvement.
My friend had blood clotrs to her lungs after surgery. It was very serious for a while and she was on medication for a year but fully recovered. I hate the thoughts of surgery most for this specific reason. My prayers go out Charlie.
