We saw the movie
Brooklyn the other day. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a story of homesickness and homecoming, a look back on the immigrant past, and a love story -- with perfect actors and beautiful cinematography in settings that take the viewer right in. There was a sweetness and a particular brand of pain to 1950s Ireland and Brooklyn. Recommend. Trailer follows:

I am so looking forward to this. And if you haven't done so: read the book, and "Nora Webster" the companion one by Colm Toibin, as well. He is one of my favourite authors.
